Whether you are a new graduate or a seasoned executive, there are times when we need an outside perspective to help us examine our strengths and set a new path forward.

For new graduates, we always suggest taking the Gallup StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment to discover your Top 5 strengths. It gives you confidence in your own talents and skills as you enter the job market. It also gives you specific things to talk about when recruiters and prospective employers ask you to share how you have been successful in the past.  We find that our strengths are not something new, but something that we have always known about ourselves, but didn’t quite know how to put into words.

For seasoned executives, there are times that you want some extra support for a promotion or to explore a new opportunity outside of your firm.  It can be helpful to talk with someone who is neutral and is objective about you and your goals.  Sometimes, when we are close to someone, their own ideas and biases enter into their thinking and advice.  It can be helpful to bounce ideas off someone who has only your best interests at heart, and is not tied to your company or your industry.
